Splendid Fairy-wren - Malurus splendens

This male is defending his territory. Although common in parts of the metro area they seem to be on the decline. Their sudden absence from my own garden coincided with the arrival of a pair of Laughing Kookaburra. (pers obs)
Anas gracilis Grey Teal.

The "graceful duck" is a fast flier. Common in the SW of Australia it is well named.
This Spotted Pardelot was feeding young in a hole under a tree trunck. It quickly became quite tame.
One of my favourite birds the White-breasted Robin is becoming quite rare in the Perth Metro area. I very much like its secretive manner and delicate tonal coloration.
